14,428 STUDENTS ALLOCATED LOANS IN BATCH TWO 2023 -2024

We would like to inform students who applied for loans for the academic year 2023/2024, as well as the public that today (Friday, October 27th, 2023) we have released the second batch (Batch Two) with 14,428 fresher students who are allocated loans worth TZS 44.2 billion.

All students in the Batch Two are new entrants joining undergraduate studies in various Higher Education Institutions in the country.

The number of students who have been allocated loans so far

A total of 70,560 first-year students have been allocated loans worth TZS 203.9 billion. It may be recalled that, 56,132 undergraduate students were allocated loans worth TZS 159.7 billion in the Batch One that was released last week, Friday, October 20, 2023.

In addition, among the 70,560 students allocated loans so far, 40,470 (57.3%) are male and 30,090 (42.6%) are female.

How to get loan information

Students allocated loans in the Second Batch, as is the case with all applicants, are advised to get more information about loan items and amounts they are allocated through SIPA - Student’s Individual Permanent Account - which they used to apply for loan.

Loan applicants are reminded that SIPA is the most reliable channel of obtaining the applicant’s loan information.

Release of Batch Three

Batch Three will be released before November 3rd, 2023 after completion of the final verification of loan applications. After the Third Batch, loan applicants will have the opportunity to appeal for loan so as to be considered for loan or additional loan amount after submitting relevant documents.

Loan budget for 2023/2024

The Government has budgeted TZS 731 billion for 220,376 undergraduate students for 2023/2024. Among them, 75,000 students will be the first year loan beneficiaries.
