HESLB EXTENDS APPEAL WINDOW FOR FOUR DAYS

Appeal window to be closed on Friday, November 17th, 2023

The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has announced an extension of four more days to November 17th, 2023 to enable students who are yet to be allocated loans or need additional loan amounts for the academic year 2023/2024 to submit their appeals.

HESLB’s Executive Director, Abdul-Razaq Badru has said that the decision to extend the deadline for appeal window has been made after analysis so as to give ample time to needy students to submit their appeals correctly.

“We opened the appeal window on Wednesday (November 8th, 2023), and after the evaluation, we have extended the period of four more days until Friday, November 17th this year in order to give enough time to loan applicants to submit their appeals”, said Badru and emphasized that all appeal requests are submitted online (OLAMS).

Badru has urged appealing loan applicants to read the provided instructions carefully and follow them including attaching documents that prove their neediness and which were previously not uploaded to the system. He added that applicants are advised to visit the accounts they used to apply for loans (SIPA) to get information about their loans.

The Government through HESLB has planned to provide loans to 220,000 students for 2023/2024 Financial Year including 75,000 first-year students and 145,000 continuing students. So far 73,078 first year students have been allocated loans worth TZS 210.8 Billion.
